چکیده

Architecture has been identified as a main tool for high quality system development. It encapsulates the earliest design decisions of the system under development. These decisions constrain heavily the overall design space; therefore it is worth emphasis on the reasons behind architectural choices. Methods for architecting process have been suggested by various researches. Unfortunately, they fail to achieve frameworks that can reason on the strong relationship between general system goals and the decisions that are made to fulfill those requirements. In this paper, we have three major contributions: We introduce a general framework for architectural design cycle. This framework describes an iterative process that assists in transforming system-wide goals into effective architectural description. We show, how the prioritization values among goals and existing legacy have major impact on the resulting architecture. In addition, we demonstrate that the ordering of design decisions greatly affects what kind of structure is created. Investigating the interplay between architecture and design we focus on how we can connect refinement of requirements to the iterative creation of the architecture. Finally, we demonstrate our framework with a small design example. Using the example we exhibit how out approach improves traceability, supports trade-off decisions and explicitly records design rationale.

Task-space Control of Electrically Driven Robots

Actuators of robot operate in the joint-space while the end-effect or of robot is controlled in the task-space. Therefore, designing a control system for a robotic system in the task-space requires the jacobian matrix information for transforming joint-space to task-space, which suffers from uncertainties. This paper deals with the robust task-space control of electrically driven robot manipula...

Robust Controller Design for IG Driven by Variable-Speed in WECS Using μ-Synthesis

This paper presents robust controller design for a wind-driven induction generator system using structured singular value ( -synthesis) method. The controller was designed for a static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) and a variable blade pitch angle in a wind energy conversion system (WECS) in order to achieve the required voltage and mechanical power control. The results indicated that this ...

A Software Transformation Framework for Quality-Driven Object-Oriented Re-engineering

In re-engineering object-oriented legacy code, it is frequently useful to introduce a design pattern in order to improve specific non-functional requirements (e.g., maintainability enhancement). This paper presents a methodology for the development of a quality-driven re-engineering framework for object-oriented systems. First, a catalogue of design motifs (primitive design pattern transformati...

Design and Modification of One Arm Driven Manual Hemiplegic Wheelchair

This paper presents design modification to the existing standard wheelchair by incorporating an improved propulsion system and also braking and tilting systems that allow its full control with only one hand. The proposed design has the propulsion system with a chain drive powered through a four-bar linkage driven by the main handle. The desired direction of motion is obtained by moving the leve...

Design and Analysis of Academic Dual Chamber Pacemakers

In this paper, we describe a relatively inexpensive framework for the design of an academic dual chamber pacemaker that can be used to empirically analyze different pacemaker designs. The goal of this framework is to provide a convenient platform that can be used for research and teaching in realtime embedded system design. The framework can also be used for model-driven development of pacemake...
